Development

At RFT Research we have a broad experience in development of components for complex systems engineering projects. This includes power supply solutions for low and high power systems, with particular experience in low power battery designs where charging and protection circuits are required. Other projects include oscillator design and audio amplifier circuits to work in wireless communication systems. We also work on EMC related circuit design problems and mitigation.

To realise projects RFT Research has taken responsible for the complete schematic, component selection, layout, handling sub-contract manufacture, assembly and system testing. This typically requires working to production standards to allow design and build functionality testing like bed-of-nail testing to be carried out. RF designs also involve schematic and layout because components are often bespoke and required special handling. Through our work we have developed a high level of experience in PCB design and manufacturing techniques, including flexi-rigid and stretchable PCB materials.

Experimentation

Experimental research is at the centre of RFT Research's work for both self-funded activities and for contracted research projects. Our capabilities include planning and developing experiments to best obtain measurement results plus conducting one-off and extended field measurement campaigns. In addition RFT Research has experience in developing custom equipment like antennas and RF systems for data acquisition to enable the most detailed measurements achievable for any given environment or senior.

Analysis

Whether it is analysis of your data or analysis of data from experiments carried out by us for you, RFT Research has the knowledge and experience in mathematical and statistical processing and analysis techniques to best extract and represent your results. Our main experience is in wireless communication channel measurements data processing on large data sets, where comparison and investigation of multiple measurement environments and their related channel models are of interested.
